As much as we’re excited that Ramadan is almost here, we’re a bit down that this year’s holy month will not be the same. We will all be staying home for safety measurements with no Ramadan outings. We can’t have house gatherings for Iftar or Sohour or even meet up with our families!
That’s why we need to lift up our mood by creating a Ramadan spirit at home for our small families to revive the holy month’s mood.
We talked to interior designer, blogger, and founder of Furniture Scout, Ingy Mahdy, about the latest trends in home accessories and decorations for Ramadan 2020. Mahdy also recommended some local online stores so we can shop while we’re safe at home.
This Ramadan, since there are no Iftar or Sohour gatherings at home, I expect people to look for simple Ramadan home accessories and decorations instead of fancy ones. It is recommended to buy accessories that would work for Ramadan and the rest of the year as well, as copper and glass colorful plates,” Mahdy told us.
“Ramadan this year coincides with Spring. I believe that we will see decorations with lighter colors opposite to the traditional red and blue khayameyas.”
